"Angel II" is a 8" x 12" print of a 16” x 20" acrylic painting with oil pencils for details on BC wood. 

This is a recreation of the original Angel In Chains   painting I did for the benefit of a fellow local artist. An artist within the   Dallas network had lost everything, unfortunately including her pets, in a   fire. A collective of artists decided to gather items within their portfolios   to produce an auction that would raise up money to help her start anew. My   contribution was this quick one hour painting I did that immediately left my   hands once it was produced.       

The story is of an internal struggle of concepts, between the idea that a person can bind the Spirit, and the idea that the Spirit is representative of God, and thus it is an entity greater than ourselves. How can we bind something that is greater than ourselves? By either perspective of scripture the angel is ultimate truth. She is merely standing there. Appearing to be bound by the chains but not really restricted. More communicating the message that she is willing to stay within the confines of our limited human thinking until we are illuminated to new truths that set of free from previous man-made confines.
